SETH  RUGGLES  HILER

This portrait series is comprised of eighteen oil paintings depicting the members of SAGE (Services and Advocacy for GLBT Elders). A permanent installation at the SAGE Center in Chelsea, Manhattan, 'Faces of SAGE' is the culmination of months in the artist’s studio after Hiler met individually with the subjects at the Center to take photographs from which to paint, as the sages shared their life stories.
